In the septal region. we have also observed substantial numbers of retrogradely marked neurons in the caudal half of the anteroventral area of the bed nuclei of the stria terminalis (BST) that appeared to be clustered more densely within the boundaries of the magnocellular nucleus (Fig. 3D).

General description technique/protocol: In four experiments, the deposit of the tracer appeared to be fairly confined to the PRC. The appearance of a representative CTb injection site in the PRC is shown in Figure 2....The results of this experiment are described in detail, because the injection site virtually was confined to the PRC and, at the same time, involved most of the nucleus.
