Labeled fibers were present rostrally in TE3r at the most caudal level of the amygdala and striatum (Fig. 3a). Collator note: fibers in the superficial layers of the caudal SSs. See Fig. 3a, Swanson Atlas Levels 27-28.

An axonal plexus was evident throughout the extent of TE1v and rostrally in TE3r (Fig. 4b). Collator note: terminal field in the caudal SSs. See Fig. 4b, Swanson Atlas Levels 28-29.

General description technique/protocol: In four cases (PHA-L cases 20,43,66,73) the injection site was restricted to TE1, the dorsal aspect, sparing the transitional, ventral portion, TE1v. PHA-L case 43 (Figs. 2, 3) was a typical injection of dorsal TE1. Collator note: PHAL injection in the mid-rostrocaudal AUDp. The injection is completely included in the region, and it is mapped here onto Swanson Atlas Levels 34-35.
