Gustatory areas | Central nucleus of amygdala medial part |
moderate | HRP/WGA | many labeled axons were observed to enter the caudate-putamen via the external capsule (Fig. 5B). These labeled fibers were divided into two groups; one group ran ventrally in the caudateputamen to terminate in the FStr, CeL, CeM, and rostrodorsal part of the La. Collator note: moderate labeling of the ventral CEAm. See Fig. 5D, Swanson Atlas Levels 28-29. | Nakashima M, Uemura M, Yasui K, Ozaki HS, Tabata S & Taen A., 2000 |

General description technique/protocol: In four rats, WGA-HRP was injected into the insular cortical area where terminal labeling had been observed after the BDA injection into the VPMpc (Fig. 4A and Fig. 5A). Collator note: injection into the mid-rostrocaudal GU, with a small extension in the dorsal VISC. The injection covers layers I-V, and it is mapped here onto Swanson Atlas Level 14. |
