Gustatory areas | Central nucleus of amygdala lateral part |
very strong | biocytin | In the central nucleus, the whole lateral subdivision (CL) was filled with labeled fibers and terminals (Fig. 6A). Collator note: very strong terminal field in the midrostrocaudal part of the CL (stria terminalis is present).

Gustatory areas | Central nucleus of amygdala lateral part |
very strong | biocytin | In the central nucleus, the whole rostrocaudal extent of CL was filled with labeled fibers and terminals (Fig. 7A–C).Collator note: very strong labeling of the CEAl, at least mid-rostrocaudally. See Fig. 7B, Swanson Atlas Levels 27-28. | Shi C.J & Cassell M.D., 1998 |

General description technique/protocol: Case 20 (Figs. 3I, 4) had an injection into the deep layers of dPI (the gustatory dysgranular zone of Cechetto and Saper, 1987) at 1.4 mm anterior to bregma. Collator note: small bioctyin injection in the rostral part of the GU. The injection is completely included in the region, and it is mapped here onto Swanson Atlas Level 12. |
