General description technique/protocol: In four rats, WGA-HRP was injected into the insular cortical area where terminal labeling had been observed after the BDA injection into the VPMpc (Fig. 4A and Fig. 5A). Collator note: injection into the mid-rostrocaudal GU, with a small extension in the dorsal VISC. The injection covers layers I-V, and it is mapped here onto Swanson Atlas Level 14.
