87556 Agranular insular area ventral partAgranular insular area dorsal part strongbiocytin
Dense fiber and terminal labeling was present in all layers of aAI up to at least 4.5 mm rostral to bregma (Fig. 13). Collator note: Swanson Atlas Levels 7-10.

87559 Agranular insular area ventral partAgranular insular area dorsal part strongbiocytin
Caudal to the injection site, all layers of the dorsal half of aPI contained a dense plexus of labeled axons and terminals that continued back into aPA to roughly 2mm behind bregma (levels +1.7 to -1.8, Fig. 13). Collator note: Aid is labeled in its deeper layers. Swanson Atlas Level 11.

87601 Agranular insular area ventral partAgranular insular area dorsal part strongbiocytin
Labeled fibers and terminals were present also in layers I and VI of adjacent dAI and lateral orbital cortex (LO). Collator note: strong labeling of both AId and GU in the rostral part. See Fig. 15B, Swanson Atlas Level 10.
Shi C.J & Cassell M.D., 1998
General description technique/protocol: Case 22 had an injection in aAI at 2.7 mm anterior to bregma (Figs. 2, 12A). Collator note: small biocytin injection in the rostralmost AIv. The injection is completely included in the region and it is mapped here onto Swanson Atlas Levels 9-10.
