Field CA1 | Postpiriform transition area |
very strong | Fluorogold | Many labeled cells were also observed in the distal part of the temporal field CA1 (i.e., the region bordering the subiculum, Fig. 3M,N). In general, CA1 cells located in the superficial part of the pyramidal layer were more intensely labeled than those in the deep part. Field CA1 | Postpiriform transition area |
light/moderate | Fluorogold | Collator note: several labeled cells in the intermediate CA1. See Fig. 3N, Swanson Atlas Levels 37-38. | Santiago AC &Shammah-Lagnado SJ., 2005 |

General description technique/protocol: This case has a large FG injection in APir which involved slightly the caudolateral part of the posterior basolateral amygdaloid nucleus (Figs. 1, 2A). The results suggest that APir receives widespread inputs, most of them from ipsilateral telencephalic regions (Fig. 3; Table 1). Collator note: large FG injection in the TR, mid-rostrocaudally. The core of the injection is placed in the TR, Swanson Atlas Levels 35-36, but a small part of the halo extends minimally into COApm and more rostrally into BLAp. The entire injection is mapped here onto Swanson Atlas Levels 33-36. |
