Case pg353-4. Soma notes 36 female Sprague-Dawley rats weighing 200-350g. 10 microliters of CT-HRP(.20%-.40%) were injected into one eye ?behind the lens into the vitreous chamber of the eye. pressure injection over 1 min. Terminal notes fibres can be seen in stria terminalis coursing rostrally from these more caudal levels. This pathway gives rise to the thalamic label reported earlier (anterior dorsal, anterior ventral thalamic nuc. and bed nuc. of the stria terminalis.).

Several nuclei of the thalamus were strongly labeled including the paraventricular (PV), mediodorsal (MD), interanteromedial (IAM), anteromedial (AM), paracentral (PC), central lateral (CL), central medial (CM) intermediodorsal (IMD), rhomboid (RH), ventromedial (VM), and RE (Fig. 1M–P). Labeling was particularly pronounced within MD, VM, RH, and RE. Collator note: Swanson Atlas Levels 27-33.

[…] label is uniformly distributed throughout the most rostral portion of nucleus accumbens, but quickly assumes a lateral position and eventually merges with label in the fundus striati as one proceeds caudally. Collator note: see Fig. 3B, Swanson Atlas

Collator note: small terminal field in the MOs, superficial layers, in the rostralmost part of it. See Fig. 7A, Swanson Atlas Levels 5-6. This is the single case that shows a terminal field in the premotor cortex.
