General description technique/protocol: Three animals received injections confined to the dorsal agranular insular area (Aid; Fig. 1B). Case P-116 will be described in detail. The injection site in this case involved the central portion of AId (Figs 1B, 9B, 10). Collator note: PHAL injection into the rostral AId. The injection is completely included in the region, layers I-V are labeled, and it is mapped here onto Swanson Atlas Levels 7-9.
