RetinaMedial preoptic area light/moderatenot knownCholera toxin conjugated to HRP
Case pg348,349, fig5d-f. Soma notes 36 female Sprague-Dawley rats weighing 200-350g. 10 microliters of CT-HRP(.20%-.40%) were injected into one eye ?behind the lens into the vitreous chamber of the eye. pressure injection over 1 min. Terminal notes Medial component of the RHT included labeled fibres and terminals found near the midline involved the medial half of the medial preoptic area?terminals evident in the anterior medial preoptic area Paper describes a.m.p.a. as separate region .

Fourth, several nuclei of the hypothalamus project to the BSTvl; these inputs originate from the medial preoptic region (Figs. 4D,E, 5C), arcuate nucleus (Figs. 4G–J, 5I), dorsomedial hypothalamic nucleus (Fig. 4H,I), lateral hypothalamic area (Figs. 4F–L, 7D), parasubthalamic nucleus in the dorsolateral hypothalamus (Figs. 4K,L, 5H), and posterior hypothalamic nucleus (Fig. 4K,L). Collator note: see Figure 4D-E. In Figure 4, the level of the injection site, the entire part of the tissue, which is medial to BSTvl, is labeled more or less uniformly, with a "halo" of intense signal just around the nucleus (BSTdm and fu). See Atlas Levels 19.
