Case pg353-4. Soma notes 36 female Sprague-Dawley rats weighing 200-350g. 10 microliters of CT-HRP(.20%-.40%) were injected into one eye ?behind the lens into the vitreous chamber of the eye. pressure injection over 1 min. Terminal notes fibres can be seen in stria terminalis coursing rostrally from these more caudal levels. This pathway gives rise to the thalamic label reported earlier (anterior dorsal, anterior ventral thalamic nuc. and bed nuc. of the stria terminalis.).

Several nuclei of the thalamus were strongly labeled including the paraventricular (PV), mediodorsal (MD), interanteromedial (IAM), anteromedial (AM), paracentral (PC), central lateral (CL), central medial (CM) intermediodorsal (IMD), rhomboid (RH), ventromedial (VM), and RE (Fig. 1M–P). Labeling was particularly pronounced within MD, VM, RH, and RE. Collator note: Swanson Atlas Levels 27-33.

Secondary motor areaPrelimbic area moderate/strongnot knownFluorogold
Labeling was predominantly localized to FPm, MO, VO, AGm, AC, PL (adjacent to the injection and contralaterally), and IL, spreading fairly evenly throughout all cortical layers of these regions. Collator note: Fig. 5A-E, Swanson Atlas Levels 4-9. This even MOs labeling pattern is only by the dorsal convexity, and only in the rostral levels (Levels 4-6). The more caudal levels show labeling in layers II and V.
