everywhere | bilateral | exists | At the most rostral levels of the LS Fig. 3A,B,E,F, both enkephalinergic and neurotensinergic cells are distributed through the cytoarchitectonically defined ventral and intermediate parts, with some of the former even extending into the dorsal part. At progressively more caudal levels, both enkephalin and neurotensin mRNA-expressing cells are found progressively more ventrally and medially in the LS.
