Anatomy and histology
Section plane: coronalAngle: not specifiedCutting method: microtome Preservation: freezing Thickness: 20 micrometer
Staining type: cresyl violet Sampling: 1:5 Annotation: The brains were removed immediately and were placed in the same fixative (with 15% sucrose) at 4 Celsius degrees, where they remained overnight. The following day, five adjacent one-in-five series of 20-micrometers-thick frozen sections were cut on a sliding microtome. One series from each brain was stained with thionin and was to make projection drawings of relevant cell groups in the hypothalamus.
