tegmental area display very few branches and boutons
(Fig. 6S) and follow median and lateral pathways to reach
the pons.
Small numbers of PHAL-labeled axons course medially from the ventral tegmental area though the interfascicular and central linear nuclei of the raphe (Fig. 6S,T) to end in the dorsal nucleus of the raphe (Fig. 6U).

General description technique/protocol: Nevertheless, several PHAl control injections were made in areas surrounding the BSTfu, including the dorsomedial nucleus and subcommissural zone of the BST. These two areas were examined in some detail because they contained a few labeled cells in the experiment to be described in detail (BST92). |
