PHAL–labeled axons from the region of the BSTtr take the same routes described above for the BSTif and BSTpr to the rostral lateral septal nucleus, where dense terminal field bands are established in the ventral region of the ventrolateral zone and medial region of the dorsolateral zone (Figs. 5B, 6C,D) and a lighter terminal field is found in the medial zone (Fig. 6A–E). These terminal fields partly overlap those of the BSTif.

General description technique/protocol: Finally, the BSTtr was heavily labeled in experiment BST100, with slight contamination in adjacent regions of the BSTif, BST anterolateral area, and substantia innominata (Figs. 1D,D', 2).
