After injections centered in the external lateral PB subnucleus (Fig. 5A; for PB subnuclei, see Fulwiler and Saper, '84), many intensely labeled neurons were found in the dorsal lateral, anterior lateral and supracapsular BST subnuclei with only a small number of lightly labeled neurons in the ventral lateral and posterior lateral subnuclei.
