General description technique/protocol: In five experiments, the PHA-L injection labeled neurons confined almost entirely to the RCHb, immediately in front of the arcuate nucleus, underneath the third ventricle. In all of these cases, a very similar pattern of anterogradely labeled fibers was observed. The appearance and location of PHA-L-labeled cells for a representative injection are shown in Fig. 1.
