As reported previously (Wyss, '81). the lateral portion af the entorhinal cortex projects to the molecular layer of both the IG and AHC. This projection is relatively well segregated within this zone (Fig. 12A). In addition to the labeling of layer I, labeling is present in the intermediate pyramidal cell layer, suggesting an additional input to this zone.
