Heavy fiber and terminal labeling in gPI itself extended from bregma to about 2 mm rostrally with an additional strip of labeling in gPA from about 1 mm to 2 mm caudal to bregma (Fig. 4). Labeling was present throughout layers I–III and V–VI, but was very sparse in layer IV. Collator note: strong labeling in GU rostrocaudally. See Fig. 4B-D, Swanson Atlas Levels 10-15 (+2.2 - +0.7 mm from bregma).

General description technique/protocol: Case 21 (Figs. 3 and 4) had an injection located in gPI at 0.7 mm anterior to bregma . The injection site included cells in all layers of gPI. Collator note: small injection in the GU. The injection is completely included in the region and it is mapped here onto Swanson Atlas Levels 14-15.
