90842 |
Agranular insular area posterior part | Postpiriform transition area |
strong | Fluorogold | Heavy retrograde labeling was observed in the posterior agranular insular cortex (mainly in Layers II and III), continuing into the ventral part of the perirhinal cortex (in Layer II) (Fig. 3E–Q). Collator note: Aip is strongly labeled in the caudal half. See Fig. 3F-H, Swanson Atlas Levels 19-27. | Santiago AC &Shammah-Lagnado SJ., 2005 |

Agranular insular area posterior part | Postpiriform transition area |
moderate | Fluorogold | Collator note: moderate labeling at best, in layers II-III and V, in the rostral AIp. See Fig. 3E, Swanson Atlas Levels 14-16. | Santiago AC &Shammah-Lagnado SJ., 2005 |

General description technique/protocol: This case has a large FG injection in APir which involved slightly the caudolateral part of the posterior basolateral amygdaloid nucleus (Figs. 1, 2A). The results suggest that APir receives widespread inputs, most of them from ipsilateral telencephalic regions (Fig. 3; Table 1). Collator note: large FG injection in the TR, mid-rostrocaudally. The core of the injection is placed in the TR, Swanson Atlas Levels 35-36, but a small part of the halo extends minimally into COApm and more rostrally into BLAp. The entire injection is mapped here onto Swanson Atlas Levels 33-36. |
