The medial nucleus of the amygdala receives a moderate number of anterogradely labeled fibers, which are located mainly within the anterodorsal and posteroventral subdivisions, clearly tending to avoid the posterodorsal subdivision (Fig. 3F-K). General description technique/protocol: Since the injection site in experiment SUB-16 excompassed a retively broad extent of the ventral subiculum (Figs.1. 2), and a correspondingly dense patterns of fibers was labeled, this experiment was used to illustrate in detail the efferent projections to the amygdala, septum and hypothalamus. Collator note: authors mapped the whole pattern of projections of SUBv, see Figure 5.
