In eight out of the 10 animals, tracer injections in PER resulted in labelled fibres predominantly in the molecular layer of the border area of CA1 and SUB (as illustrated in Fig. 10). To a lesser extent fibres were also found in the stratum radiatum and stratum pyramidale. Labelling was found to be restricted to only a limited number of sections (Fig. 10A), indicating a strict topographical organization of connections. General description technique/protocol: Collator note: composite case, 10 small PHAL injection into PERI. Case 95245 is presented in Figure 10. The injection is in mid-rostrocaudal PERI, covering all layers, but it may extend in ECT and minimally in ENTl. The injection site is mapped here onto Swanson Atlas Levels 37-38.
