90851 |
Basolateral nucleus of the amygdala posterior part | Postpiriform transition area |
very strong | Fluorogold | The posterior basolateral nucleus was the most densely labeled amygdaloid structure (Figs. 3I–L, 4A). Collator note: strong and very strong labeling in the rostral two thirds of the regions. Swanson Atlas Levels 28-30. | Santiago AC &Shammah-Lagnado SJ., 2005 |

Basolateral nucleus of the amygdala posterior part | Postpiriform transition area |
moderate | Fluorogold | Retrogradely labeled cells were less numerous in the caudomedial part of this nucleus (Figs. 3K, 4A). Collator note: only the medial part of the caudalmost BLAp is labeled. Swanson Atlas Level 31. | Santiago AC &Shammah-Lagnado SJ., 2005 |

General description technique/protocol: This case has a large FG injection in APir which involved slightly the caudolateral part of the posterior basolateral amygdaloid nucleus (Figs. 1, 2A). The results suggest that APir receives widespread inputs, most of them from ipsilateral telencephalic regions (Fig. 3; Table 1). Collator note: large FG injection in the TR, mid-rostrocaudally. The core of the injection is placed in the TR, Swanson Atlas Levels 35-36, but a small part of the halo extends minimally into COApm and more rostrally into BLAp. The entire injection is mapped here onto Swanson Atlas Levels 33-36. |
